Bishop Powell has served on the Regional Executive Council (Southern New England Church of God) and is a former member and chairperson of different committees and boards in the church, in schools and in his community. He continues to exemplify a willingness and enthusiasm to serve both those that the Lord has ordained over him and those in his care.
Bishop Powell’s philosophy for ministry is that with the enablement of the Holy Spirit he must carry out his God-given purpose “to preach good news to the poor, heal the broken hearted, comfort all those that mourn, proclaim liberty to them that are spiritually enslaved…and declare the year of the Lord’s favor” (Isaiah 61). He desires to see the body of Christ becoming spiritually mature, where believers reflect the image of Jesus Christ, and actively demonstrate the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He continues to preach, teach, train and counsel the believers with a sense of urgency that the gospel must be preached until all have heard!
Bishop Powell has been married to Petrina for over 22 years, and is the proud father of three children including a fraternal pair of college age twins- Ashneal (son), Ashnique (daughter) and a baby girl Aleighna.
